I saw this dust collector on Amazon and it was priced pretty cheaply. I also saw it also has a 3HP motor and runs on 110V.

This one?: https://www.amazon.com/Mophorn-Collector-Portable-Micron-Filtration/dp/B07JPDHZQF/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_15_sspa?keywords=mophorn+dust+collector&qid=1553125046&s=gateway&sr=8-15-fkmrnull-spons&psc=1

Could somebody be trying to one up Harbor Freight? Lot’s of similar looking parts. The unit looks like a good starting point for modifications. The description keeps mentioning ‘wall mount’, but it sure doesn’t look like a wall mount to me. I don’t like those 5 micron bags spewing fine dust. And a couple of Wynn filters are going to cost an additional $450 to replace them. Donaldson or other brands might be less.

Regardless of what the Amazon description says, it will not be a 3 horsepower motor if it runs on “110V”. My guess is that the manufacturer is Chinese and critical information was lost in the translation of the specification. Also, 2300 cfm is a fantasy with just a 3 horsepower motor.

Yep thats the one. Im guessing “you get what you pay for” comes down to this unit.

Looks just like this one:

The Grizzly says 2300 CFM also.

Yeah, but off of 240v?

My wife had a 1 1/2 hp Nova lathe that ran on 110, but to move up to a 2 hp powermatic we needed 240. My jointer/ planer is 3hp and needed 240. As I understand it, 110 can only deliver 1 1/2 hp.

I agree. I should have been clearer. I was pointing out that it most likely is a Grizzly clone and needs 240.

I love that you can get 2300 cfm with a 12-3/4” impeller.

This kind of advertising creates a lot of mis-trust with dust collectors.
