Topic tags/keywords: tool caddy chisel storage knife storage lathe

I added a second tool caddy to the end of the lathe. The first one is full. I placed it low so I could use the full length of the lathe without the tools interfering. I also like cutting edges down. Though I do need a system to identify what’s what.

I believe that system you are looking for is called, “Memory”. In the rack shown, no 2 handles are alike… Jerry (in Tucson)

Funny Jerry, I’m short on memory right now, and that unique handle thing won’t last.

Could you mark the handle ends with the shape/size? Like Klein screwdrivers are marked? That’s what I’ll going to do for my new carbide handles

If you look at the turners on youtube, they seem to have the tools lined up handle down smack dab in front of the headstock. One of our posters had a small cabinet on wheels where he could grab what he wanted. Looks real good to me. I have a caddy similar to yours, and I am constantly picking the wrong one up.
