Great stuff! I’ve exploded at one of my “Stupor-visors” who pushed me too far a few times, reminding him if it weren’t for me, his incompetent, arrogant (derriere) would have been fired a long time ago. I never swung at him, but the temptation was mighty. And he KNEW it was time to make himself scarce. The worst (or best, depending on your view) was the time I had to tell the Chief Engineer off over LIVE radio, when he was trying to order me to do some of his work. he was told that I was tired of doing HIS job. If he wanted it done, he’d better do it HIMSELF. If I DID work for him, he owed me 15 years back pay, and I’d accept a cashier’s check by the end of business that day, and finally, if he had a problem with ANYTHING I said, we could go across the street to the Corporate Office and discuss it with the Vice President. At the end of the tirade, Engineering, Housekeeping and Security staff were doubled over with laughter, and his fellow “managers” were unusually subdued that afternoon.

In all of my 40+ years of employment I never witnessed anything like those fits of rage.
Although there have been times when I would have liked to gone off the “deep end”!

At one committee meeting a presenter offered his viewpoint by placing a fully typed page of 12 point font on a 8-1/2” × 11” page on the overhead projector and then turned away from the audience and read it verbatim.
His point was totally lost along with any respect he may have deserved, I wanted to stand up and tell him to shut up and sit down but my manager did not agree with that!

your manager was wrong! it was time to teach him a life lesson so he wouldn’t repeat the same mistake again, and he probably did-lol.

We had a guy in Iraq go off the deep end. He flipped the Deputy Project Managers desk over. I was outside and came to the door. Guy was calm and just put his hands up and said take me to the stockade.

Wood Butcher:

Good one. At least it ended okay “Guy was calm and just put his hands up and said take me to the stockade.”

Thanks Buddy!
