Bought a new Grizzly0771z tablesaw in mid December and have a problem with it. Shortly after starting to use the saw it started making a loud squealing noise upon startup. If I keep using it the noise keeps getting softer and softer until it finally gets quiet after 6 or 7 startups. Next day brings the same scenario, very loud on the first startup to quiet after several starts. Sent an e-mail to there tech support with a video of the noise on startup, wrote me back with the advice to adjust the tensioner on the belt. I did as they suggested with no relief of the squealing noise. Has anyone had this problem and if yes what did you do about it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks 7south

Mine did the same thing. What worked for me was to re-tension the belt as grizzly mentioned. Then I used it for a while (maybe a project or two) and re-tension again. After that the noise was gone.

Maybe when the belt wears out I’ll put a nicer one on but I would suspect that is not for a while.

Have your say...
