After a couple years of using my MM16 bandsaw, I finally got tired of dealing with the cracked (it arrived that way) dished and unalignable table insert. A great piece of equipment that some genius (bean counter) decided to save a few bucks on a seemingly unimportant part (until it ain’t). The plastic insert was replaced by a sturdy aluminium plate that was dimensioned from the original. If anyone would like to source one of these PM me and I will give you the contact info. Cheers.

Thanks for the pics Langski, I read your post on the MM user group and my interest was piqued 8^)

For my use, I’d like a replacement insert that acted as a platform for more common inserts and materials.

The large rectangular hole in the MM16 table would have a filler piece like your photo shows, except the blade slot would be a rectangular section, maybe 1” wide by 1-3/4” long. This inner section would be a shelf, 1/4” below the table surface such that shop made 1×1-3/4” inserts would be easily cut, installed, and tossed when they wear out.

Often I’m needing a zero clearance insert for some cut, then a deeper insert when I run a wide blade. The ability to easily make and replace inserts is what would be key.

I agree, that table insert on the MM16 is just abysmal. Please PM you source to me. Thanks!
