I have an first dibbs shot at purchasing a Wen 4225 floor drill press new in the box for $250. Currently, I have a benchtop Delta 10” drill press. The Delta is great for smaller items, but have found it’s limitations so was looking to go floor drill press of 15”-18”. Sticker shock :)
Looks like WEN was around in the 50’s made in USA. But like Rockwell and everyone else, bought up via Chinese. Yet, many WEN products gain fair to good reviews akin to what you see about Grizzly or Taiwan products, but yet much better than Harbor Freight stuff.
Those with this drill press model, how does it fair months after using it? How is the variable speed holding up? I’ve read the couple reviews here on LJ. But wanting to know it’s…longevity.
And I could probably sell off the Delta for $50-$100.

Not sure about the floor model, but ive had the bench top model for a bit over a year at this point. No complaints. After about 7 or 8 months I decided to make it its own stand, as I knew id be keeping it around.
