Looking to buy this Laguna SS|14 spindle sander:

Anybody own one and have good or bad feedback??

My spindle sander is pooping out – motor overheats and won’t work after about a minute of use. I have this one that’s branded as pretty much anything, but the same machine under the sticker:

I have a Grizzly combination 4×24 belt and convertible to spindle. The unit moves about 1 in vertically to.

I have not used it heavy; but have used some. So far very happy with it. I have used it quite heavy for a few projects, but not many. I really like being able to have both the belt and the spindle on the same machine too.

I recommend a combination; brand choice is up to you. The price difference is probably about $75 or less difference and the conversion back & forth is easy.

I also have a larger Jet belt and disk sander; hooked into the dust system; probably why I use it the most.

I made my own stand with storage underneath, not just open space. I like it better than a purchased one.

Ralbuck,
I’ve got an old Craftsman 6×48 belt/disk sander that I love using. However, it doesn’t re-orient to become a spindle sander and I like having a separate spindle sander on hand.

I ended up ordering the Laguna spindle sander – Laguna has a 10% off sale going on… I guess I’ll review it once I’ve used it a bit, since there doesn’t seem to be any info in the web about this thing yet!
