I picked up a rather stout jointer today for what I think a pretty good price. Mostly posting this because I’m rather proud of this 100 year old piece of equipment and wanted to share with everyone but also looking for any advice you all might have regarding it’s maintenance and operation.

Aww man that calls for a big Ole you suck! ;-) NICE SCORE

If you haven’t yet, head over to OWWM, grab a cold beer and get to reading!

And let’s try this for your picture

What size is it, nice Jointer.
I have a 12” Wadkin RZ that I use often.
All I can add is if it has the dreaded Clamshell Head be careful.

Thanks for the link to OWWM Grant. I just I haven’t figured out how to post actual pics anywhere but projects how do you do that?

It’s a 12” and I plan to work it hard. Thankfully this was made post clamshell time or swapped out so I don’t have to switch out heads or fear for my entire hand being eaten.

Stick a helical head on that and you’re golden :)

I’ve surfaced a few boards just for fun and even though the knives are badly in need of a sharpening it does a respectable job. I am certainly enjoying owning it even though I’ve only had it for a couple days Kenny.
