Hello all,

I have been searching long and far for a Delta Unifence. I got this Delta Platinum Unisaw from our shop archives. It’s the model 36-955 that had a 52” Unifence. I brought it home and have been trying to rehab it. It runs great, but is missing the Unifence (36-949). I cannot find one anywhere. Does anybody have any resources of where I can look? Delta site is a bust. If it is a hopeless cause, what is a good aftermarket rail and fence system for this saw? Thank you!

They show up now and then in the various aftermarket places. One was just listed (and sold) on CL in my area last week. If you just need the fence body (and not the rails), there is at least one for sale on e-bay right now. Might also want to check over at the OWWM site (particularly in the BOYD section).

Cheers,
Brad

You guys are great! I did see the one on ebay. I think it’s an older version. It might work, but I was a bit concerned about the saw kerf in the fence on one photo of it. But it is an option. I’ll check the other site too.

Any link to the craigslist one? I searched there and came up empty earlier today.

Thanks again for all the help. I really appreciate it. I did find the one for 175 in Minnesota. Unfortunately he’s not willing to ship it and I’m not willing to drive 16hrs to get it. So the quest continues…..

On a side note; has anybody had any luck with aftermarket fence and rail systems?

The Platinum Edition Unisaw came with a Biesemeyer fence.

Just as a side conversation,
Peachtree makes a replacement extrusion for the fence…..
https://www.ptreeusa.com/tablesaw_unifence.html

While I loved my unifence it made it difficult for some of the accessories to be used on…..I had both and it was awesome…..I have a saw stop now and wish I had my unifence back!!!

I saw that fence on ebay, but there is no rails…..

Take a look at the VerySuperCoolTools fence. It offers some of the same features of the unifence (ability to slide forward and back, etc) and I love mine.

It’s not exactly cheap (I think I paid $300 or so), but it’s a fantastic fence.

I’ve heard great things about the VSC fences, and you can use https://www.searchtempest.com/ if you want to look essentially everywhere on craigslist.

+1 for VerySuperCoolTools fence. I followed his Youtube videos and made my own last year. I don’t weld so I had to have a friend lay a few beads for me but other than that it was easy. I probably paid $100-150 in materials, but that includes the fence AND rails.

The Unisaw Platnium came with either the Biesmeyer or the Unifence. Your choice. Mine came with the Unifence

I really appreciate everyone’s help and information. It’s been really helpful. I struck the gold mine today! One of the guys I work with gave me an extra unifence he had. Turns out he had the same model of unisaw stolen from a job 3yrs ago. But the theifs obviously new to the trade cause they left the fence behind lol. Anyway his saw was replaced and he had an extra fence laying around and was gracious enough to give it to me. So the mysterious unifence has been found!
