I’m going to be building a tool cabinet. It will contain heavy millwright tools. Roughly 4’ by 3’ and it will be bolted onto steel. Might even weld up a solid metal shelf for it to sit on. What do you think the best kind of construction would be? I just need a place to start researching as right now I dont even know what kind of cabinet techniques are out there. Thanks for your help.

Traditionally cabinets were made using dovetails for the carcase and housing joints and tenons for the shelving pieces.
There are a few good books out there on cabinet design. One is Cabinetmaking for Beginners by Charles Hayward which can be found here.

Good luck in your Build – search LJ for Tool Cabinet and you’ll find quite a few.
