I noticed my Craftsman 103.27270 saw had a very loose likely original belt and went to upgrade to a link belt. However, my saw has a double pulley that is running a smaller than 1/2 inch belt.

I went to upgrade the pulleys to 1/2 inch and then lost the “key” that fits on the arbor to locate the pulleys.

So a few questions:

1. Where do I find a new key?
2. If I switch to 1/2 in pulleys, do I need a double again or is a single ok?

Thanks !

I would have just put some new belts on… given the age of the machine, they probably did need to be replaced. Also, would be way cheaper (less than ~$10) and you wouldn’t have any of the problems associated with link belts (plus, I personally try to keep the machines as close to original as possible, when possible – YMMV).

Anyway, you can get key stock (and woodruff keys) at pretty much any hardware store, Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, Graingers, McMasters, Amazon, etc…

Cheers,
Brad
