Topic tags/keywords: question lathe

I just bought a Reliant DD70 mini lathe. It didn’t come with a manual. It has never been used. 23 years of just sitting. Not surprising, the spur drive is stuck and there doesn’t seem to be a hole in the shaft large enough to insert a knock out tool. Any suggestions?

You need a two wrenches to remove the spur center not sure size or spindle or TPI.

Thanks, Bill. So, it doesn’t pop out from the back, but unscrews from the spindle? Right hand thread or left? Any guesses?

The tightening direction of spindle threads are always opposite of the normal spindle rotation. So loosening the spur center would be in the same direction as normal rotation.
