, I’m pretty new to woodworking. I mean, like 6 months new. I’ve been piddling around, learning the tools feel and all that.
The first is my Harbor freight bevel gauge. The handle sucked, but the blade seemed ok, so I made a new handle for that
And the second, is my first “real” project, that isn’t a tool, or jig, or something like the bevel gauge. It’s the top to what’s gonna be a stocking tree for my girlfriend. We have 5 kids, so we need room for all these stockings. Lol. I’m pretty happy with it. I just wish I would’ve been able to get some dyes, instead of paint, so you could see the wood grain and stuff. It’s some kind of oak. Idk if it’s red or white?? Idk how to tell the difference yet. Lol

Brandon I see the gauge, looking good! There are two pics of a Santa head, I’m guessing that’s not the stocking tree? If you click the IMG button above the text box on here you can select a picture from your device and put it straight into the thread, no photo bucket needed

The Santa head is what I have done so far. Lol. It’s part of the socking tree. It’s gonna be a post, painted red, with hooks for the stockings. Then I’m gonna attach the Santa head to the top, and some boots that I cut out, to the bottom. I was trying to make the post look like Santa. Maybe put a couple buttons up the post, too. Idk. I should be done sometime Sunday. I better, it’s getting close to Xmas, she’s gonna kill me if I don’t get it done soon

And also, I tried to upload the pics the way you said, but the green bar came up when I clicked add photos, and just ran and ran and never uploaded. I let it go for about 20 min, and they never went through. Idk if I was doing something wrong, or what?

Got it, that’ll be a fun stocking holder!
On the picture, it may be too big of a file, it’ll usually say that though – try cropping it and/or setting the camera to a lower resolution
Also, you’ll soon figure out if you take a picture on your phone it’ll post sideways, the fix is to crop it slightly before uploading.
