Picked up an old Unisaw yesterday. Bit dirty and rusty, but picked it up anyway. Stated to tear it down today and found from trunnion bracket was broken just in front of where it bolts to the top of the cabinet. Disappointing. I’m hoping it can be brazed. This means a complete teardown and I’m stuck. I’m trying to remove the pointer bracket and I cannot get it off. One of the long bolts came out with easy, but the other is stuck. It turns freely for about a turn and a half. You can tighten it, but when you loosen it it fetches up solid. I’m sure I’ve marred the slot a little, but it still is intact. Was getting frustrated and left it in before I completely stripped the slot. Anyone have any idea how I might free the screw?

Thanks
Scott

Unless yours has been modified in some way, it’s just those two long screws holding on that bracket, and they are threaded directly into cast iron… so there should not be anything preventing them from coming out other than buggered up/gunked up threads. Not sure what ‘slot’ you are referring to.

Cheers,
Brad
