Does anyone have a good dealer for new planer knives (PowerMatic 15) and/or a reasonable service for sharpening the knives. There is one local guy by me, but I’m concerned he is not truly machining them by CNC and they will come back unbalanced, etc.

Thanks for any input!

I’ve used Ridge Carbide tool company for years for carbide cutters and planer/jointer knives. It’s on the expensive side. They do awsome work, I highly recommend.

I just checked the site http://www.ridgecarbidetool.com/ , says that it’s under a redesign, but they have a pointer to the old site, that has a price list.

I would recommend that you have an extra set of knives available for your planer, if you can afford it. Very handy if you should knick one of the knives.

Thanks Nicky,

That’s not too much more than my local guy and I’m not satisfied he knows what he’s doing ;)

I appreciate the help and I do need to get another set as well.
