I buy my exotic lumber from one of three places. Two of them are lumber mill outlets and a woodworking store. All of the have similar prices. The farthest is 90 miles the closest is 12 miles.

The Republic of Congo since that’s where the trees grow. That would be the best place. :))

I’ve purchased Wenge from Cook Hardwoods. Boards were good quality and free shipping helped on the cost.

Entirely depends on where you’re located. I buy exotic woods at several outlets in NC. The best for me is West Penn Hardwoods. Was there a few weeks ago and they had lots of Wenge. They ship. But without knowing where you are it’s impossible to recommend. I like Aj2’s response. You’re guaranteed to get it there.

Bear Creek Lumber in Twisp, Washington. Also online.

I live in Alabama. Thanks for the answers so far. I used Bell Forest Products for the maple for my Roubo bench. Anybody bought wenge from them?

Tweezers are a must I got sprinters from carrying it to the car after buying it. I think the minute you touch it splinters appear.
