Topic tags/keywords: lathe delta

Hi all,

Today I stumbled on a Delta 46-204 for $150 and couldn’t pass it up. It looks to be in great condition and everything works. I can’t seem to find a manual on it and all of my googling has left me without a lot of data on the unit.

Does anyone else have one of these units? I can buy the manual from amazon for $15 but in the mean time was hoping someone else had some insight and experience with this lathe.

No need to pay for the manual… you can get it from Delta here:
Lathe Model 46-204 T1

I don’t have any experience with that particular lathe, but similar ones. Delta made some fine lathes, and that one should serve you well for years to come. It has MT2 tapers and a 1”x8tpi spindle, so you have pretty much unlimited access to accessories. Depending on condition, you may want to open up the headstock and replace the bearings just to be on the safe side. YMMV.

Thank you very much Brad, I really appreciate the link. I’m excited to get started turning some pens :)
