okay looking for advice I built a split top roubo style bench with a laminated top just Douglas fir nothing too special I’m using a Sheldon quick release as an end vise how thick should my Walnut Jaws be in your opinion and should I just keep the jars going the full width of the bench or just the half of the split top that resides on what’s worked for other people

I have a roubo style bench with a wheel vise. If going with an end vise, I would use half of the end, or have two separate vises – one on each half
