Hello All, I wanted to get/make a zero clearance insert for this small contractor table saw, but no one makes one. And because the original insert is just 0.095’ thick, it would be a stretch for me to make one. Has anyone “modified” the original insert to make it zero clearance? Any suggestions as to how I could do this? My concern is for safety, as I do not want any mod to come loose and come flying at me. Thanks!

I have a Ridged saw – bought LeeCraft phenolic ZCI from acmetools.com. I really like it and highly recommend it.

They have several models, maybe one will fit your saw. The one I bought says “for Craftsman”, but when you look at the details, it also fits my Ridged saw.

I saw one for the 45101, but not the 45171.

The rim can be thinner than the middle of the insert, so you can make one out of thicker material. That is, it has a rabbet cut around the edge of the bottom of it.

Thanks for the reply. I owned the 4510 at one time and yes, I had the LeeCraft ZCI. It was great. But this little saw has a totally different insert. There is hardly any depth to that insert <.10 inch) I would think I could not rabbet the rim down so fine on a thicker ZCI.

I found this while doing some “googling”. Not sure if this is any good:

Fastcap Zero Clearance Tape

Just following up to see if you managed to find or make a zero clearance plate yet?
I’m also looking for one for this saw
