Does anyone know when the dewalt 735 Planer came out (first year)? I couldn’t find anything before the 2000’s. Was looking at a used one and the guy said it was 20-30 years old.

It could be pushing 20 years ago that it came out, 30 years, no way. A quick search didn’t turn up any of the earliest comparison tests I was hoping to find but I’m sure Popular Woodworking or another magazine would have been quick to have such a test soon after it became available.

The manual shows the first publish year of 2003. Amazon had it available on August 19, 2003.

Thanks for your reply. I think I remember seeing a review dated 2004 somewhere. So 2003 is probably accurate.

Have your say...
