I am currently restoring an old Delta 37-207 Jointer. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the set screws on the infeed and outfeed tables. When snugging them down it is hard to raise and lower the tables. I understand the outfeed bed because its set once and lock it down, but I dont understand what I need to do about the ones on the infeed table. do I just snug them down just enough to where the table is stable and there is no play?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes just tight enough so as you can adjust but not tight enough so its hard to adjust.
Originally I think they came with a lock nut to secure them.

Without pictures, can only guess you are referring to gib screws on dovetails on tables?

I asked Google and got these links:

https://www.woodmagazine.com/tuning-up-your-jointer
http://davidwahl.org/2013/01/a-poor-mans-guide-to-leveling-jointer-tables/

Google can show you a few hundred more references on how to tune jointer tables.
Best Luck.

Ditto. Not too tight.
