Topic tags/keywords: woodturning lathe belt

I purchased this lathe a couple weeks ago. It runs fine but the belt it came with broke. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get a new belt on. This machine has no markings. I have no idea what brand it is. If anybody has seen a machine like this any info would be massively helpful. Thank you!

Note; this is as far as I have made it. I cannot figure out how to slide this rod out.

Get a link belt. HF has them. You add or take out links to get the right belt length; then install on the lathe and join the ends of the belt together. The arbor is supported on both ends and to use a standard type of belt, requires taking the lathe apart; link belts eliminate this. Link belts run more smoothly than the vee type belt.

Pictures would help, but do as Ron says and it will save you alot of work.

Have your say...
