Both the wife and I have cracked phone screens and will be getting new phones in about a month. Years ago, we had Android phones, then switch to Apple for about 5 years, then 2 years ago, the wife wanted to switch back to Android.

Now the wife is thinking that she might want to switch back to Apple but is not sure.

What are your thoughts on these two platforms? Which one do you prefer? What do you think are the significant benefits of one over the other? What about negatives of one or the other?

It seems that the majority of the people I know with apple phones all have cracked screens.

The wife and I have both have a iPhone 5 and my battery is just starting to not last as long as it used to. We keep ours in otterbox phone cases and have never had a broken screen. We have also never had any issues with them or the iPhone 3 that we had. I still use both of the 3’s in the shop for music. My brother has had just about every type of phone imaginable. He upgraded to the iPhone from his android phones because of the constant crashing the company that he works for also dropped the android phones for new iPhones. The local branch has a couple thousand employees. I like my 5 because of the size it’s perfect in my hand with the case on. The wife is also wanting to upgrade. I think I may just put a new battery in and keep what I have.

I use an Apple iPhone for the plain and simple reason that I own and have always used Apple computers. I wouldn’t consider using an Andriod phone and sacrificing the utility of having a seamless operating system environment between the devices. By the same token, if I was using Windows PC’s, I’d use an Android phone over an iPhone without hesitation.

I hate apple phones, every thing is proprietary with them, not easy to do any thing with them ( music, photos etc.) except phone calls lol

Androids use common jpegs and mp3’s

Have you actually used an iPhone? I tend to doubt it. I can view JPGs and play MP3s on mine. I can download MP4s and watch them as well. Also, if you don’t want to be tied to the App Store, you can jailbreak it quite easily.

I still have my iPhone 6. I replaced the battery a couple of weeks ago and it’s running a lot faster. I guess the battery health throttling they had built in was slowing me down.

I’ve had iPhones since the old 3G and never cracked, or even scratched, a screen.
