Hi there,
I acquired 2 slabs of cherry – 50” x 20” x 3” and the sap wood has what appears to be active woodworm. Looking for some suggestions of how to treat, or should I just add it to the burn pile?

Thanks in advance.

Insects will only live in wood that hasn’t been dried. Find someone with a kiln and have them dry it for you – make sure the temp is over 130F so that it will kill any insects or eggs. In addition, keep it away from any wood that hasn’t been KD as it can be reinfected.
