One of the comments said it sold at auction for $470K!!
It has to be the bell flowers and dirt that makes it so valuable.

I wouldn’t pay that much if it was dirt from Mars!!!! Reminds me of my real property tax assessment….I couldn’t get that for my house if I wallpapered it with $100 bills!!!

Back in the 1970s my friends older brother bought cheap furniture beat the heck out of it, added a fake old time finish look and sold them for ?10x what he had in them. One born every second.

Lots of folks make “maloof rockers” that are just as well crafted as what Sam made…..
But they don’t sell for $50K… unless they were made by Sam.

Lots of folks make “maloof rockers” that are just as well crafted as what Sam made…..
But they don t sell for $50K… unless they were made by Sam.

Someone would be foolish to buy such a piece of furniture. It will fall apart any day now from wood movement because the piece wasn’t built from kiln dried lumber.
