I looked on this site, https://www.toolpartsdirect.com/delta-1350492s-set-screw.html and was shocked. How can they charge $226 for a set screw that can be picked up at any big box store for pennies. I have to believe they made a typo on their pricing, but based on the prices for other fence parts, I’m not so sure. Most parts can be made by a competent wood or metal worker. This post is in response to the fellow who wants to build his own Biesemeyer fence.

Don’t think it’s a typo – they have the same set screw on e-bay for the same price .. but at least they give you free shipping :)

Same screw can be obtained directly from Delta for 58 cents, or as you mentioned, probably less than a dime at a local hardware store or the BORG.

I’ve seen the aftermarket guys really rack up the prices on standard off the shelf hardware store items before, but I do admit, this is about the most extreme case I’ve seen yet!

Cheers,
Brad

Delta’s machinery parts web site has the set screw for .58 cents. Go to delta machinery parts.
