Hello fellow lumberjocks! I have someone that needs a footboard and rails to match the headboard that they have. Here’s a couple of pics of the headboard. Any guesses what species of wood this is? The headboard itself could be a combination of solid wood and veneers. Thanks in advance!

Looks like it could be poplar to me. But without any blotchiness, it must be sealed with some shellac before it was stained.

I’d guess alder. Cherry, poplar, alder are all good guesses but alder is very common as a structure wood in store-bought furniture and can be stained to look like many other woods (or stained to look like many lesser woods to TheFridge 8^)
