i picked up a bunch of pallets to build “bunkers” for a nerf wars party my niece threw for my lil buddies 5th birthday party. afterwards, tearing them down for the firepit, i notice these in one of the pallets. the pallet is marked “sinopec”, which is a Chinese oil and gas enterprise.
first piece is ( just a cutoff from a piece 36” long) 12.2 oz and measures 4 15/16” long, 3 3/8” wide, and 1 5/16” thick

second piece is 1lb 3 oz and measures 15 3/4” long, 3 3/8” wide, and 11/16” thick

this one had a really nice smell to it when cleaning it up.
i was thinkin european or asian alder but not sure. :)

Definitely :)

It could also be meranti or similar. But I’d probably stick with Asian alder :)
