Looking to replace my fence on my table saw. I have the original one that came with the saw, it’s an older right tilt saw.

Any recommendations for a new fence, I am getting a bevel in my rips and for the life of me can not get the fence squared out. It needs to be replaced anyway.

Have you thought about the Shop Fox Aluma Classic? I have it on my Grizz 0444Z. It is a Bies. clone, and works VERY well. Might be an easy add-on.

I second the Shopfox classic fence. I had one on my 1023 and it was pretty bullet proof. Just take the time to align it with the miter slots and get it perpendicular to the table.

I bought a Vega fence with 42 inch rails for my old Rockwell Model 12 and it made a big difference in the accuracy of cuts. I got it two years ago on Amazon for about $230.00 and it took around 2-3 hours to install and get it the way I wanted. I could not afford a Incra or Beisemeyer. I did look at the Mule Cab but am happy with the Vega.

I was leaning heavy towards the Vega, or the Biesemeyer Fence…

I have heard the Biesemeyer (the new one) is nothing like the older ones and is not worth buying.

Ill look at the shopfox

I had a Vega on an older saw and I really liked the fine adjust knob. It really helps get repeated accuracy.

I would check this out. So many options with this style. They are getting popular quickly, good reason for it.

The Shop Fox Classic is the stock fence of the current G1023RL, as well as the former G1023SL….it’s a decent copy of a Biese Commercial fence, and should be a direct bolt on to an older G1023.

The Vega is another nice option.

So I was out in my shop a little while ago and discovered the problem. It’s not my fence, the front trunnion is cracked in half. No wonder it’s cutting crooked

I am going to order a new trunnion, they still make them. This is an older saw, rt tilt grizzly G1023

y’all have any other recommendations that I should address while i have it taken apart? I was thinking new belts and arbor bearings. I am also going to lube everything up and re-paint it. I need to replace the magnetic switch too while I’m at it. Also, the boards on the fence were shot, I removed them and plan on replacing with ?? a hardwood maybe or starboard, not sure yet.

The top is smooth, level, and clean…

I got the saw for free, the motor in a 3 hp and it purrs like a kitten. I got the saw several months ago, just haven’t had time to fix her up.

Thanks Chad

Go get the very super cool tools version of the bessy. I’ve considered replacing my fence on my sawstop with it.
