Looks like Stanley but no markings.

Topic tags/keywords: question plane

Just as the title says. Found this in a junk store yesterday and I have one similar to it. Thought if I could preserve the blade for my existing one, it will be worth $8. Amazing how we justify buying things. Is it a Stanley?

Nice find.
What’s funny to me is how they almost jump off the shelf at me now. It’s like you buy one, and now you see them everywhere!
It’s a sickness for sure!

fivecodys, I guess what attracted me about it was the round thingy right behind the blade that allows you to adjust the blade from left to right and vice versa. It is a very cool feature.
bandit571, I have to look that up. The only stamp on this thing is right in front of the horn “MADE IN USA”. The base appear to be some sort of metal similar to golf clubs, grey and no rust at all. I’ll clean it up soon enough. (that means 3 months to a year from now:))

I have a hard time walking away from almost any block plane for $10 or less. Could explain why I have 21 block planes at last count.
