Topic tags/keywords: question

I don’t know if it’s maple. It does kinda smell slightly like cedar when I was sanding. Depending on the wood can anyone recommend a stain color or finish for it. Thank you, this is my second project still learning.

it.

Any thoughts or advice on 1st project?

Looks like maple (the face grain).
Are you truing to match another piece or will the color be unique?
