I’ve noticed that there are questions referencing problems with setup and tune-up that seem to get asked all of the time. Just wondering if there is a place to put answers to commonly asked questions i.e. bandsaw setup. We have so many incredibly knowledgeable people here that offer fantastic advice but their posts are not always known to people who may not know where to look. Then a new posting shows up asking the same question and we start from scratch. I know people have lots of different ways to fix issues but fundamentals like the Snodgrass video and various methods for resawing seems like something to have all in one place. Seems like “Need help with bandsaw drift” questions get asked every few days. If there was a sticky then people could just be pointed to that page when the question gets asked. Kinda like a FAQ section that a lot of sites have.

No, we’ve asked for it but were told the software isn’t designed for stickies. Stickies are useless without moderators to enforce them, which we don’t have, so there would still be the same posts asking the same questions day after day. All that information is already on the site and other forums and there are still people who don’t bother to search first.

Understood. It’s just that members have taken the time to give really detailed advice and instruction on a lot of topics but someone searching for the first time would have no idea which of the literally hundreds of responses to similar posts are the “go to” responses.
