Topic tags/keywords: hvlp spray gun harbor freight tips

I’m using the HF hvlp spray gun that comes with a 1.4 tip. Contacted HF and they don’t sell other tips.
HF recommended to use graco tips because they are compatible. I can’t find a source for the tips. All I see for graco are airless tips. Has anyone purchased or used the graco tips?

HF compares it to the Kobalt from Lowes and after reading some reviews on that gun, Lowes customers have the same complaint.
What are you trying to spray?
I use to paint cars for a living and have had many guns over the years. I always bought guns that were sized for what I was spraying. Yes, most automotive guns come with a range of tips around 1.2-1.5 but from my limited experience spraying wood finishes, I needed my 2.2 tip primer gun. Urethane clear coat on a car is way thinner than Poly’s used to protect wood.
A quick search found a large tip gun for <$40

Or, if you’re brave, you could very, very carefully drill the tip out. I’ve heard of it being done but I have never tried it myself.
Really depends on what you are spraying.

Thanks for the feedback. Will continue with what and I have and continue to search for tips. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll have to move to a different gun.

Have you contacted HF tech services? They’ve got more savvy than the folks at the stores.

Yes. They recommended the graco tips. I can’t find them anywhere.
