Hi, hopefully i’m posting in the right place. I have a Makita 2030 that i’m currently going through and cleaning up. I am trying to disassemble the motor but the pully is stopping me from removing the front plate. If anyone could help me out with how to remove the pully i would really appreciate it. thanks
-Andrew

Pulley is threaded on and simply unscrews. Also.. It’s been a while, but I think you can pull the armature out without needing to remove the pulley.

Cheers,
Brad

I was able to get the armature out, i’m guessing you used some kind of tool to fit into the two holes on the pully? also is it left handed threading?

I was able to get the front plate off. Thank you Brad. I think its your Makita on google images that actually gave me the idea to paint it that color blue.

I was reading elsewhere about the Ryobi AH-115, the Makita 2030 and the Hatachi F1000A (all made in the same factory). It was said there are 2 pulleys – one is right hand thread and one is left hand thread – but I can’t tell you which is which.
