I’m always looking at machinery in auctions and when something is near, or near someone I know I see if there’s anything I need or could use or possibly even resell.

Here’s a link to each item I one. Thoughts? Overall it looks like I did pretty good. I was really needing a larger edge sander so that’s where the Ritter came in. Then, I saw some items that would be useful as well.

I think you did well on most very well on a couple. Not a fan of Ritter edge sanders (or really any Ritter) bt the price was certainly reasonable.

Nice get on the Delta saw/router combo. Cant beat that deal with a stick, IMHO.

Were you able to view these items in person? I’m curious about the species and quantity of lumber in that lot. There was an auction near me a few weeks ago that had multiple “hardwood” lots but I couldn’t tell from the poor photos that it was anything special so I left it alone.

Nice score on the Unisaw Charles! Got a good deal on the Baldor too.

I’m not a fan of the Ritter but I’ve been needing a larger edge sander for a while now and until I can find a good Oakley oscillating in a reasonable price range, I have to take what I can find.

Everything is sight unseen. If you’re close, you can go and inspect items and count etc but too far for me to do that. I’ve been using this auction site for a while and they’re very good at photos and providing what information they can in the notes. I just have to guess on the lumber. There is an electrical plug in the middle of the lumber so I used that for scale. I figured I got the lumber maybe at a wholesale price vs retail so I can use it for my projects I can sell.

Thanks guys. Funny thing is, the unisaw was just an afterthought. It was the last lot in the auction. My main goal was the Edge sander and the motor as the price was very low and i restore old machines so this being a 5hp single phase motor made it very valuable to me. I just basically threw a bid at the unisaw and I was in the lead so I followed it and there was one other guy wanting it so I just did a little more and won it.

I might end up keeping it and scratching my head on a power feed on it for dedicating ripping

He had a nice shop. Sadly, most things went way undervalue, even from what I’ve seen in used equipment auqctions like this. This was probably the biggest surprise for me. If I had the room I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

Since I already had someone going over there, I bid on the router and stainless table as an aside since the prices were good. I did try to bid on a few other things but I wasn’t going to chase them much higher. They still went under my price if it was something I really wanted.

Hey, so when are you taking the drive for pickup out in Riverside? I’m guessing there will be a big trailer involved!

I watch the machinerymax auctions, mainly just to anger myself 8^)

I see many great “must have/need dat” items but they are all too far away. Only once has one been “local” and I got a deal on a bandsaw and disc/belt combo sander, but if I had to pay for the shipping any gain would have ended up being a loss.

AZ, I think you did ok (as long as you plan on driving out for pickup 8^), that wood is what has me interested, you never know what you will really get.

That is so funny about angering yourself. I have gotten mad at some things that I’ve been needing only to see they’re on the other side of the country. I know that feeling all too well.
