I should probably do a review, but I’m lazy. I found these video DVDs on Amazon. One is Repairing Furniture With Bob Flexner and the other is Refinishing Furniture With Bob Flexner.

I can’t recommend them highly enough. While Bob’s presentation is not highly polished (no pun intended), the videos are thorough and he gives very good coverage to each subject and moves on to new topics smoothly. The video segments feature real furniture — antiques from the 1700s through early 20th century — so the information and techniques are real, and not just staged for a video.

They are available on Amazon. The DVDs can be found by searching for the titles above. One tip though, the listings first show a VHS option. Select the DVD and they pop up for $19.95. Now is a good time to install Get Honey. Right now, the Honey discount is $3.86 for one and $4.40 for the other. Back when I bought them it was over $10.

I’ve watched each at least a half-dozen times. Every time I get something new. They really are classics that are timeless. Here, 30-plus years later, they still are as useful as anything currently available.

I’ve got one of his books that is my go-to reference.
