I’m putting a 3-Spockets Cigarette Lighter in my car. The unit came with 3M double sided tape, but I’m unable to get it to stay stuck. Can anyone recommend a double sided tape that has really good sticking power? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Chris – this may seem unorthodox and very frowned upon,
but, I got tired of my GPS mount not sticking with ANYTHING
that I had on hand. so I drilled 3 small screws into the base
to hold it permanently. when you get ready to sell or trade in
the car, just send the apparatus with it. (or seal the holes with the soldering iron).
other than that, I personally have not had any luck with tape or adhesives
on automobile plastics. keep in mind, the temperature inside a locked car
in the summer heat is not good for any consumer type of tapes or adhesives.
good luck in your project !!

Couple of small screws. Been in the auto business a long time, we shy away from adhesives like tape for a reason.

If your dash is anything like mine, no tape or suction cups will stick. But make sure you clean the dash well before trying.

here is a quick pic of how I mounted the GPS mount under the dash console
near the cigarette lighter. you could mount the triple outlet the same way.
I will be doing this project also in the front and back of the car.

but, if you don’t want to use screws, that is totally your call.
try to find a place that is out of sight and it won’t matter.
but as mentioned above, a tape or adhesive that “works” will be hard to find.
