Topic tags/keywords: box drawer stops box jewelry drawer

I am working on a jewelry box for my wife to replace the cheap one she has had for years. I am stuck on a design issue. She insists on having a way to keep the drawer from coming all the way out and accidentally spilling the contents on the floor. At this point, I have the drawers sliding on runners, but I have not yet glued up the box carcass. What’s a good way to create a stop to keep the drawer from coming all the way out?

Gerstner (machinist chest company) uses very small bullet catches. They allow the drawer to still be removed with
just a little extra pull. They are super inexpensive and I would assume very easy to place. They call it their “stop-track” drawer system.

Here are some solutions. Fine Woodworking

Rockler sells some plastic stops for $5.
