I’m sure this has been discussed before, but surprisingly, I couldn’t find a recent discussion of it.

Is there a reason the site doesn’t support emoticons? Not only doesn’t it have tools to let you insert emoticons, I tried typing an emoticon into a post, and it disappeared when I saved the post.

So, any reason for this? I mean, I’m sure there’s a reason… Dang it, I’m trying to ask as diplomatically as possible. Just shows you how rusty my tact is. :)

I wonder if there’s a rust remover for that? But I digress…

I find them annoying and juvenile but to each his own. Probably good for those who never learned to write, type, and spell properly.

I’m not talking about putting a cute heart-eyed face next to something. I’m talking about being able to put a winking face next to a comment that was meant as a jest, to prevent miscommunication. For example, I find than is easier to interpret than :p.

Thanks. That’s the information I was looking for.
