Topic tags/keywords: resource tip question trick

I’m on the hunt for a good bluetooth capable hearing protection so I can wear them while running the planer, and sturdy enough to work in the shop with,... in Texas summer heat. The reviews for every set on amazon are so polarizing I can’t seem to get a good handle on which ones are actually worth the money. I’d be sweating with them, and they’ll probably get knocked around a little bit. Noise cancellation would be nice but not necessary, and with a rechargeable battery. Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

I’m sure there are many good ones. I have these:

I’m very happy with them. The sound quality is good and they block a ton of noise.

Just the other day, my wife was calling my name from about 10ft away and I had no idea.

I use them in the SC heat (lots of sweat) and haven’t had any problems.

Joe’s suggestion above may work well for you. If you’re considering an earbud style there are these ISOTunes that I’ve heard good things about. A worthwhile video review can be found here.

I bought a pair of IsoTunes Pro earbuds a couple of months ago and they work quite well, both at providing hearing protection and at connecting to my iPod for music or my phone. George Vondriska, with WWGOA, recommended them in a class I took at Weekend with WOOD. He’s got a review on the WWGOA site here.
