I have 3 or 4 but always use the depth gage on my calipers instead. If you don’t have anything else, they’re okay but I would recommend a caliper because you can measure depth and that exact measurement is displayed on the caliper, and is mirrored at the caliper jaws which is sometimes handy. I have this caliper but there are other good ones, but not all of them have a depth gage.

Thank you so much! I have scoured the internet looking for one. I have depth mics, calipers, indicators, you name it. This will be perfect for what I do. By the way, bookmarked the sight and ordered one.

So you paid $30 ($29.60) for the exact same caliper I posted for $15.12, lol.

I guess I should of payed better attention. Thought it was an earlier post. Oh well, lessened learned. lol

For what it’s worth, I have several brands of depth gages including Starrett—the General is my favorite one. Easiest to read.
