Hey guys,

I am planning on buying my first table saw and have been reading through various suggestions and looking on craigslist and facebook marketplace for used options in my area. I have been debating on if any of these would be good long term options or if I should just buy a new saw like the Delta 36-725 when I have the money for it. Here are some of the used options I’ve found. Looking for a saw with a good fence on it if I can find it

This is the most interesting saw I’ve found. In the description he says it’s new and he just took it out of the box and put it together but it’s a 10+ year old saw from what I’ve read. Only $275 for a saw that is basically new. If anybody has any info on this saw and the fence let me know.

I don’t know much about the fence he has on this.

This one seems high on price but looks clean

Thanks!

I recently bought a new Delta unisaw 36-L336 with their fence. I didn’t install the fence that came with it and instead put my Incra TS-LS fence system on it. You can find it at incramental tools.com

Dust collection is atrocious because it was designed to be used on construction sites. It came in many configurations, that’s a base model and price wise it’s tough to call because those models often sell for a lot less but they are also usually used up because they were great saws. Ditch the wings and make new ones, ditch the fence and buy something better, and it’ll be better than anything under $800, but you’ll be $500 into it and it’s questionable when you can buy a new Delta with riving knife and better dust collection for $600. Even though it’s like new, I would try to talk him down to $200.

Those are good points. I had mostly wondered if the fence would be good enough for it that I wouldn’t have to worry about put a better one on and I thought it might already have a riving knife on it. The new Delta sounds like the way to go here then.

The first c-man for $225 would be my choice. Left tilt, CI wings, a t-square fence and, judging from the two capacitors on the motor shown in picture 7, possibly a 1.5 hp 120/240 convertible motor, that’s the best bank for the buck.

I know I’m going to be the party pooper, but I wouldn’t be interested in any of them. If you can get the Delta for $200 or less, then take it. If you can get the second craftsman for $150 or less, maybe. I am confident you can find those saws for less out there. The last is drastically overpriced, like over twice what it’s worth.

Keep looking. You will find what’s right, I don’t think these are it.

Yeah, I’m just waiting for a better deal than these at this point.
I did see this pop up last night but when I sent him a message he said he has someone coming out to look this morning. He said he will let me know if they don’t take it so we will see.

Go get that Delta saw for $250 and make some dust. At the end of the day, $50 or $75 in one direction is not going to matter in all the value and use you can get out of a tool like that. Let the WW begin!

That one for $250 would be a great deal, I just sold a used UNifence with a broken cursor for $150, with no haggling. I’d make sure the seller knows you’ll pay the $250. The newer Cman isn’t horrible for what it is depending on your needs, $300 would be a good price, that saw is a clone that lives under many badges.

That’s a sweet deal. Put some pressure on him and offer $300!

Well I tried to pay $300 but he said he already sold it. However, I found a delta 34-444 at a garage sale for $250 with a unifence on it as well that I went ahead and bought. The guy had an extended wing he put on it but only used 2×4s to hold it up so I’m going to put more permanent legs on it. I would also love to put a riving knife on. Any suggestions? I read that shark guard makes one that might work for this.

Super! Congrats! Get it aligned, and put a decent blade on it.
