Hi guys

i just bought this saw and I am trying to use it outside
I am surprised that the laser mark on the boards is barely visible. Did I get a lemon or this is normal?

I am guessing that it is a normal problem in daylight. I have a big 12’’ sliding dual compound and a smaller one and they both are hard, if not impossible to see in daylight. Same with a big skill saw I have. I try to set them up where the sun isn’t directly on that area I’m cutting. This doesn’t really bother me as I use my eyes to set the cut line, afraid the light might be off a little.

I have the same saw and I often have to shut my garage (workshop) door to see the laser. The light on mine is very accurate. Great saw.

Yes I can confirm that …it is indeed accurate when you can see it
I am wondering if the laser can be upgraded to stronger more powerful diode

You could do one better and get a really powerful laser. Then you wouldn’t even need the saw blade! It would eliminate all that pesky sawdust too. Might set off the smoke detector though.

I have a similar problem with a level someone gave me. It has a laser that shines a line along the surface. Works fine in a darkened room, but is worthless in daylight. I never bother to use it.
