A guy has posted a DW735 Dewalt Planer for $385. Nothing extra. Just the planet and the knives that are in it. He says it’s been used maybe 4/5 times. Pictures look like it’s a very clean machine. Would you guys jump on it?

Listen to it run, and plane a board if possible to check.

Reasonable deal on a good planer. I bought one used, and have had no issues with it.

Probably not. Those were going on sale like crazy a few weeks back – check the deals thread

I think the general thought was dewalt is probably clearing the model out so I suspect w/ a little patience you may be able to find a new one with the tables and spare blades for 450 or less

For the last year or so, new 735Xs have been on eBay every few months for $450 shipped. The X is the model with an extra set of knives and the infeed/outfeed attachments.

It has been a very good planer for me. I can’t speak to that price, but the quality of the planer is very good. Having the infeed and outfeed tables is very useful.

Bought mine used also and have not had any issues. I think that’s a decent price. +1 on seeing if you can plane a board before buying.
They are great planers.

I’d take a look and maybe make an offer or ask what they’d take.

I’m really enjoying the planer… Hook a hose up to it otherwise chips fly everywhere… Also like others said, they’re regularly being listed on eBay by CPO for $450… I know a bunch of us even jumped on a deal when eBay had 20% off and got a bunch of new ones for $400 delivered.

I ended up giving him $325 for it. no extras but it is a brand new machine. He ran a couple boards through it for me and it was flawless. It will definitely be an upgrade from the Ridgid lunchbox planer I have.

Thank you all for your help.
