Hello all,

I bought this plane recently to “restore” (i.e knock off the rust, sharpen) as a user plane. I couldn’t tell from the Craigslist pictures, however the plane bears only the words “Made in USA” behind the frog. From a quick search, it looks like it might be a Sargent or possibly a Defiance but I wanted to see what folks on here thought. I have limited experience restoring hand tools but it seems like it could be made into a decent user with a little work.

Thanks!

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I’m looking forward to cleaning it up and making some shavings.

Have your say...
