SO, found an old mill that’s being torn down and everything is all palletized. There was a ton of wood out there, so I thought I’d stop in and see if they were selling any to passers by.

I picked up a fair amount of oak. Five planks, 12 feet 7 inches long x 9 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches thick at $2.50/linear foot. That’s 150 bucks worth of wood in the photo. How did I do?

I think that will be a workbench or a farm table.

Now you have to find something to do with it.

Easiest thing to do to correct the orientation of the photos is to turn the camera 90 degrees to take the picture. If that don’t work try first open the photo in a photo app and rotating the image 90 degrees. That is what I did here….

If my math is right, you got it at $1.34/bf.

The least expensive 8/4 oak near me is red oak for $3.75/bf.

Nice find!

I’d consider that a great deal!

Be sure to “scrub” the wood before going after it with bladed tools, good chance a lot of grit has embedded itself into the surface.

You’d better believe it! There are actual pebbles stuck in it!

I open all my photos in “paint” and save them from that program to my computer before I post them. Paint is on most PC’s.

I take all of my pictures with my phone. Because I have a google e-mail address I have a google drive. I just transfer all of my pictures to my google drive from my phone.(choose edit, then choose the pictures to share, then share, choose google drive) Then when I open my computer and open my e-mail address on my computer I can access my google drive from my computer and down load my pictures very easily to my computer.
