I would imagine that this is old hat to some folks here, but it is the first time I’ve tried to make a plane. I needed a small rebate plane for a mandolin that I am making so I made my own. I can see where making planes could get addicting!

Nicely done, did you make the cutter too or get a new one?

In the video it shows me making the blade from another blade. The wood is red oak with the side plates of maple. The reason I chose those woods was just because I had scraps of them.
