Topic tags/keywords: question router joining shaker

I was hoping for both some opinions and also some fact verification. I have a Dewalt 618 router and want to get an edge guide for it. I am looking at the DW6913 from Dewalt and the Bosch RA1065. The Bosch appears to be more substantial and just looks over all better built and better designed to me. Not to mention about $12.00 cheaper and very very high customer review ratings. I am looking for some feedback from a quality and usability standpoint.

Another thing is the length of the metal rods. It looks like 3/8” diameter steel rods. Could I just go to Lowe’s and get longer metal rods if I wanted to?

The fact verification is this, I want to use this both when using fixed base as well as the plunge base. I saw a question answered that said the Bosch will only fit the Dewalt fixed base and not the plunge base. Can anyone confirm this? Any help you all could provide would be really appreciated.
