Topic tags/keywords: drum sander conveyor belt

I’ve got an older model Performax/Jet 22-44 Drum Sander. I was running some boards through yesterday and the conveyor belt started folding over onto itself. Everything else looks normal. I haven’t started taking it apart yet. The belt is an aftermarket one that is noticeably thinner than the original. I’ve been running it for three years with no problems.
Anybody seen something like this before?

Looks like your going to be ordering a new belt. But that’s just a guess on my part.

My original belt on the 16-32 refused to track properly, so I ordered one from Klingspor’s Woodworking. It is thinner, but man, it solved the tracking problem. May be worth a look for your model for a replacement of the replacement. Mine was ~$30.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn’t think this was a new problem. Just new to me. I like the price of the Klingspor and have been wanting to try their sandpaper anyways.
