Hi All,

I belong to the San Fernando Valley Woodworkers Club.

We meet every third Thursday at 7:00 pm at the Balboa Park Recreation Center which is at the corner of Balboa and Burbank Boulevards in Encino.

The meetings last about 2 hours. The first hour is club business, technical questions, tips & tricks, show & tell, etc. The second is a program. This month’s program is on CNC routing for woodworking. Programs have been presented by professional finishers, violin & guitar makers, and specific woodworking skills or topics.

We also have a Toy Project each year and make about 1,000 wooden toys for children in shelters, the foster care system, etc. For most of the year, small groups mill parts and get prepared for our “Big Build” in October where we meet at a high school wood shop and assemble/package the toys. We get a lot of participation from the students as well.

You can check-out our website: There are pictures of our toy builds and links to our monthly newsletter.

Thx, Jeff
